The role sits within the Product Management department and is techno‑commercial, with potential integration of marketing functions. It is responsible for setting vision, mission, direction and strategy for both new and existing products throughout their introduction, growth, maturity and decline phases. The Product Manager defines standards, features and requirements and articulates business value to R&D and other cross‑functional teams.
Key accountabilities include managing the fusegear portfolio, defining roadmaps aligned with market demand, conducting competitive benchmarking and identifying opportunities for new products, variants and localisation. The manager leads market research, supports R&D during new product development and legacy modifications, defines specifications such as voltage, current ratings and breaking capacity, and oversees testing, validation and engineering change management. Compliance with IEC 60269, IEC 60947, ENA12‑6, BS88, UL and related standards is ensured, along with maintenance of technical documentation and certification records.
In collaboration with marketing, the Product Manager analyses market positioning, tracks competitors and trends, and develops product communication strategies and technical collateral for target sectors like utilities, industrial, wholesale, datacentres and OEMs. Commercial responsibilities include supporting pricing strategy, margin improvement, participating in industry exhibitions, providing technical training to sales teams and distributors, and assisting with product launches, customer presentations and tender support. Engagement with OEMs, panel builders, utilities, EPCs and renewable energy customers is also required.
We are seeking a seasoned Product Manager with experience in low‑voltage (LV) and medium‑voltage (MV) fusegear to lead development, standardisation, and full lifecycle management of fusegear products. The role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality and commercial teams to deliver reliable, compliant and cost‑competitive protection solutions for industrial, utility and infrastructure applications. This new position offers the opportunity to influence and shape Lawson Fuses' global profile and growth.
The role works closely with manufacturing, quality and supply chain to optimise design for manufacture, cost, delivery readiness and serviceability, support alternative material development and vendor qualification, and analyse failures, warranty claims and field issues. Required qualifications are a Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or materials engineering and 5–12 years’ experience in fusegear, switchgear or related electrical protection products. Essential skills include deep technical expertise in LV/MV fusegear, knowledge of standards and certification processes, strong cross‑functional communication and analytical abilities, as well as behavioural competencies such as proactivity, results‑focus, teamwork and stakeholder management.
