Tasks
The Construction QA/QC Manager position is a primary role where an individual is directly responsible for the implementation and management of applicable quality control plan(s) as directed by the General Manager on a company-wide, division-wide or project-wide basis, to assure work performed by Suffolk Construction and its subcontractors is performed in compliance with applicable specifications, plans and governmental requirements from project commencement through close out (and commissioning, if applicable). -Assist with the creation of project specific Quality Management Plans and verify implementation of plan for each project. -Implement and maintain the Corporate Quality Management Program across all areas of the business and ensure compliance. -Assist with the development of Quality metrics that empower teams to review information on quality execution; work cross-functionally with operations to address any trends. -Act as a resource for field operations with compliance on Federal and State regulatory requirements as well as local quality regulations including: ADA, ASHE, NFPA, UL, ASTM, and FBC. -Conduct random site evaluations, including follow-up evaluations to ensure corrections have been made to deficiencies. -Stay abreast of trends and evolving best practices by participating in organizations and forums dedicated to Quality. Keep the Company informed of the latest updates on best practices and standards. -Expand and Develop standard operating procedures and processes to achieve the highest levels of quality associated with delivering a completed construction project. -Manage a team of Quality Managers and/or professionals to execute the administrative tasks related to reporting site evaluations, quality reporting requirements, and site specific quality planning. -Create mechanisms for sharing best practices and quality issues across project teams and among all quality personnel. -Build effective working relationships with clients, trade partners, and the Suffolk project team members. -Represent Suffolk with Owners, Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors. -Develop and update comprehensive training curriculum for all field operations, Quality Department Staff, and Subcontractors.

The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; and reach with arms and/or hands. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will spend their time in an office environment with a quiet to moderate noise level. Job site walking. -A strong sense of urgency and initiative, and the ability to quickly study and react to complex issues, and resolve conflict effectively in a firm but fair manner. -Excellent management skills to effectively manage subcontractor performance to high quality. -Excellent organizational skills to manage the many details necessary for successful construction. -Working knowledge of national and State code and quality regulations/standards. -Must have judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command. -The ability to become part of a team and embraces the team concept. -Solid understanding of means and methods of construction -Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, Quality Management or demonstrated equivalent field. -Accurate with an attention to detail. -5 plus years of experience in related construction fields. -Candidate must possess Suffolk Construction’s core values: passion, integrity, hard work and professionalism. -Self-motivated and self-confident. -Able to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between Suffolk Construction project needs and non-critical review of incomplete work assignments while maintaining excellent customer relations. -Must possess effective and strong communication skills. -Proficient with computer software used in the construction industry
