Plant Manager

Description

The Plant Manager provides senior leadership at plant level and creates a positive environment for all associates. This leader drives customer service excellence, best‑in‑class quality, and high operating efficiency with outstanding manufacturing agility through lean and continuous improvement.

• Develop, implement, and oversee plant policies and strategic goals.
• Use KPIs and action plans to manage daily operations, including materials, quality, machining, assembly, and shipping/receiving.
• Coordinate across manufacturing, engineering, production control, materials management, quality, service, and maintenance to achieve customer service excellence, high quality, cost control, and operational efficiency.
• Engage with customers to understand requirements, resolve issues, and build strong relationships through clear communication and collaboration.
• Drive transformational change aligned with business unit strategies and objectives.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other metric‑driven methods.
• Coach, motivate, and develop team members to achieve optimal performance and career growth.
• Improve morale and reduce turnover by understanding team motivations and delivering yearly employee engagement improvements.
• Communicate senior leadership’s vision and set business objectives that align with that vision.
• Manage day‑to‑day activities and motivate the team in a fast‑paced collaborative agile environment focused on software development.
• Guide plant resources in capital investments, material management, and labor & overhead productivity plans.
• Review business activity and operating/sales reports with administrative staff to ensure customer service excellence, quality, and efficiency.

Requirements

Demonstrated expertise in adding value through leadership by building strong high‑performing teams and achieving successful outcomes on complicated programs. Acts independently or as a member of a project team providing technical process guidance concerning business implications of various systems. Demonstrated success in a high‑mix Build‑to‑Order and Engineering‑to‑Order manufacturing environment with complex BOM structures. A team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and detail‑oriented abilities, and the capacity to think abstractly to address ambiguous problems. Must possess a very strong background in Lean Manufacturing along with people‑management, motivational, and leadership skills, and proven expertise in developing and maintaining positive customer relationships.

A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience, or 10+ years related experience, is required. Candidates must have 7+ years of progressive leadership experience managing cross‑functional teams and driving operational performance, with preferred experience in materials management, machining, manufacturing engineering, quality, and production.
