Description

As a Mold Machine Operator you will mold a variety of epoxy parts and may perform sandblasting and painting of molded components. Work is performed in a production environment with cycle times from 7 to 22 minutes, requiring strong eye‑hand coordination, manual dexterity, and repetitive use of both hands and arms. The job involves frequent use of hand and power tools such as knives, scrapers, engravers, and air‑impact tools to ensure smooth operations.

• Operate injection molding machine to produce simple polymer components.
• Review job orders and basic blueprints for molding requirements.
• Set up molds, adjust parameters, and monitor production for optimal conditions.
• Cycle machine and perform secondary tasks: deflashing, inspection, lubrication, and packaging.
• Inspect finished parts for defects, follow QA guidelines, and escalate issues.
• Use hand tools (files, hammers, scrapers, air nozzles) to clean and maintain molds.
• Apply silicone mold release with a brush to prevent sticking.
• Perform sandblasting operations as needed.
• Document completed jobs accurately and report issues promptly.
• Meet department targets while adhering to quality and safety standards.
• Follow company policies and safety procedures.
• Collaborate with mentors to apply feedback and improve work quality.
• Maintain punctual attendance and participate in required meetings.

Requirements

• Communicate respectfully and effectively with team members.
• Minimum 1 + year of machine operation experience in production.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments (scales, calipers).
• Basic knowledge of machine controls, programs, and blueprint reading.
• Strong independent work ethic and ability to meet material request requirements.
• Effective written and verbal communication for cross‑department collaboration.
• Basic computer proficiency to use internal applications.
• Basic math skills for calculating quantities, weights, and measurements.
• Good interpersonal, organizational, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• High attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.

Available shift is 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM Monday‑Friday, with overtime as needed. The estimated hourly base pay is $22.30 and the role is eligible for S&C’s annual short‑term incentive bonus, subject to eligibility.
