Depot Engineer

Description

We are seeking a Depot Engineer for our Widnes depot to ensure efficient maintenance and repair of our equipment, supporting the success of our team and our customers. The role involves planning jobs, controlling costs, and meeting department targets.

• Deliver repairs and overhauls on time, within specification and budget, planning jobs and controlling costs
• Enforce safety and quality standards, promote safe practices, and complete ISO‑standard test and evaluation reports
• Maintain equipment readiness by performing maintenance tasks, managing preventative schedules, and ensuring tools are available
• Control stock levels of consumables and parts, record component failures, and produce clear fault and repair reports with corrective actions
• Provide hands‑on assistance, mentor and train service crew, and drive continuous improvement to maximise equipment reliability

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in engineering/mechanical subject, including apprenticeships
• Experience servicing and repairing large engines such as generators, HGVs, plant equipment, and agricultural machinery
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Proficient in basic MS Office applications
• Ability to keep a vehicle to GSCS standards
