Quantity Surveyor

Description

As an integral team within the business, the quantity surveyors work on a large range of commercial, leisure and hospitality projects varying greatly in budget, size, and complexity, with a key role in managing project costs and profitability throughout the life cycle of a project, be it small or large, whilst creating and maintaining the clients trust and building professional relationships.

• Monitor and close waste gaps on projects.
• Take accurate and informative briefing notes from clients when required to allow for robust pricing, including check measures and the like.
• Preparation and issue of contracts
• Complete full project tenders when applicable.
• Regular site visits
• Monitor, measure, and report key profit opportunities and concerns.
• Produce valuations in line with contract requirements.
• Keeping folders up to date on the company Egnyte server.
• Produce and update procurement tracker.
• Production of accurate and timely final accounts.
• Subcontract and supplier procurement, including detailed analysis.
• Update of Concorde Project Portal information.
• Monitor, value, capture and agree variations in line with contact requirements.
• Producing, maintaining and presenting accurate CVR’s.
• Utilising correct CBGW documentation.
• Work closely with intercompany departments as required throughout project process.
• Taking off drawings and producing accurate Bills of Quantities/SoW’s.
• Concept to completion project costing, including estimating through to final account and CVR reporting to include effective subcontract & supplier management and project contract responsibilities.
• Liaising and negotiating with external and internal customers

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the major contracts team.

• High-level numeracy skills
• Proficient in MS Excel & IT systems
• Degree or Equivalent in Quantity Surveying
• Good attention to detail and effective time management
• Full driving license
• Can-do attitude with a positive outlook conducive of inter-departmental synergy.
• Confident capable team player with approachable demeaner
• Minimum of 3 years Quantity Surveying experience in a construction-based role.
• Strong decision making & negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.

This role will be hybrid remote and we will consider nationwide applications. Our head office in Doncaster is the base for our QS team and the successful candidate will be expected to attend 2 days per week.

This a permanent position working 37.5 hours, Monday – Friday. This role also benefits from a car allowance, bonus scheme, company laptop and mobile phone. The salary is up to £50,000 dependent on experience.
