The Janitor role is responsible for keeping the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected. Daily tasks include cleaning interiors of buildings—floors, carpets, rugs, windows, walls, and general areas—vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and removing stains from furniture. The position also involves dusting furniture, lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and moldings, as well as emptying and cleaning trash cans and ashtrays.
Additional duties include disinfecting high‑touch items such as desks, door handles, office tools, and phones; cleaning and restocking restrooms; washing windows and mirrors; emptying trash and recycling to disposal areas; and clearing trash or snow from sidewalks when needed. The janitor must maintain inventory of cleaning supplies, request missing materials, notify supervisors of unsafe conditions, keep a cleaning chart, follow safety rules, lift up to 50 lb, and close doors at the end of night shifts.
Successful performance requires reliable attendance and punctuality, strong dependability, and adherence to safety and security procedures. Employees should observe proper use of equipment, report potential hazards, and act appropriately beyond guidelines when necessary. The work environment may expose staff to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical shock, and moderate noise levels, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
Compensation for the Janitor position ranges from $20.76 to $26.00 per hour. CCS offers a culture focused on employee growth, internal promotion, and a supportive community guided by its core values.
