Cashier

Description

The role involves processing customer transactions—including remittances, cash, cheques and other financial services—accurately and efficiently, while ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.

• Greet customers at the counter/lobby and thank them for their business
• Serve retail and commercial customers according to ARIE standards
• Advise customers on ARIE products and services as needed
• Minimize wait and service times, continuously reducing turnaround time
• Direct customers to appropriate departments for queries, special deals, etc.
• Maintain optimal profit margins on transactions
• Solicit referrals and cross‑sell to existing customers
• Convert walk‑in customers to IntroCard holders
• Identify and pursue opportunities to grow the customer base, transaction volume, and revenue per transaction
• Process foreign currency, remittances and other transactions with zero defects
• Perform work activities in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Handle cash per policy, ensuring accurate till balance and proper handling
• Report any cash discrepancies to a superior immediately
• Apply due diligence to mitigate risk and comply with AML and KYC requirements
• Ensure documentation and transaction processes meet internal and regulatory standards

• Communicate transaction regulations and norms professionally
• Hold a graduate degree or equivalent in a related field
• Possess at least 2 years’ experience as a cashier/teller
• Prior experience handling large cash volumes is an advantage
• Have basic computer application skills
• Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills
• Possess strong quantitative abilities
