Electrician/Instrument Man

Description

Under general direction, the electrician installs and maintains high and low voltage equipment, signal systems, overhead power lines, electric motors, generators, and electronic controls. The role involves measuring, cutting, marking, laying out, and bending conductors, as well as fabricating frames and other items for electrical construction.

• Supervise and train one to two electricians or apprentices.
• Perform major electrical construction, including installation, repair, and erection of power lines and plant equipment.
• Read blueprints and lay out conduit and wiring without drawings when necessary.
• Operate hand and power tools, testing equipment, and machinery such as power saws, flame‑cutting torches, welders, and pipe‑threading machines.
• Assist maintenance personnel and foremen with construction, safety, and housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain safety standards and good housekeeping in all work areas.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of manufacturing experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Pass pre‑employment background check and drug screening.
