In this 12-month contract, you will work closely with operations teams to identify opportunities that enhance performance, ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards, and deliver sustainable asset outcomes. This role will see you balancing both strategic and hands-on responsibilities, typically spending around three days per week in the field.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability development within the team
Conduct capability and capacity assessments, and lead risk and hazard reviews
Support emergency response activities and deliver monthly performance reporting
Provide process engineering input to asset design, commissioning, and project delivery
Identify and implement process optimisation and efficiency improvements
We are seeking an experienced Senior Operations Process Engineer to provide technical expertise and operational support for water treatment assets across the central and northern regions of Queensland. You will play a key role in delivering optimisation projects, resolving process issues, and driving continuous improvement across water treatment operations.
Degree-qualified engineer with a strong background in process or chemical engineering
Ability to work independently, engaging effectively with multidisciplinary teams
Strong problem-solving and analytical capability with a collaborative mindset
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
RPEQ registration (or eligibility) is highly regarded
Proven experience in water treatment or complex process plant operations
Work with a high-performing, collaborative team passionate about sustainability
