  • Develop and implement a global EHS strategy, systems, and policies aligned with corporate objectives, ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, and local regulatory requirements. Establish EHS governance, metrics, and reporting frameworks (e.g., TRIR/LTIR/DART, near‑miss, CAPA cycle time; energy/waste/water intensity) for executive oversight. Own the SA8000 program: audit planning and execution across sites and suppliers, certification/re‑certification, and CAPA management/closure. Drive a strong safety culture (leadership behaviors, reporting culture, behavior‑based safety, stop‑work authority) and ensure global training completion and adoption. Lead incident investigation, root‑cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action programs to continuously reduce risk exposure. Monitor latest standards, laws, and best practices; translate into global policies, SOPs, and implementation roadmaps. Represent Fluence with regulators, customers, auditors, and industry groups on EHS matters; actively participate in relevant associations. ENVIRONMENTAL LEADERSHIP Oversee environmental compliance (permits; waste, chemical, and water management; noise and emissions) and conduct internal/external audits. Drive resource and energy efficiency programs and environmental risk reduction initiatives tied to enterprise ESG goals. FACILITIES LEADERSHIP Oversee global corporate facilities strategy and operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and sustainable workplaces. Manage vendor partnerships, maintenance, workplace safety/ergonomics, space planning, and cost/energy efficiency across the portfolio. Scale the portfolio from ~7 sites to 12–13 in line with business growth, establishing global standards and service levels. Lead the headquarters relocation: site search/selection, lease/contracting, due diligence, fit‑out, move plan, budget, and change management; ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery. GOVERNANCE & COLLABORATION Act as a corporate EHS & Facilities leader, providing guidance, frameworks, and escalation to executive leadership and the ELT. Integrate EHS, Environmental, and Facilities programs to leverage synergies (shared tools, combined audits/inspections, unified processes and reporting). Collaborate with Quality & Operational Risk, Legal, HR, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Project Delivery to embed EHS into bids and execution. Align with the Transformation Office to embed sustainability and continuous improvement practices in EHS and Facilities. LEADERSHIP & CAPABILITY BUILDING Lead a global team of EHS and Facilities professionals; define structure, goals, and career pathways; foster a strong community of practice. Build organizational capability through tools, training, and culture programs that strengthen EHS ownership at all levels. Foster accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement across regions and sites. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE 15+ years of progressive leadership in EHS and/or Facilities Management within energy/cleantech, manufacturing, or industrial project delivery; global scale experience. Proven experience designing and scaling global EHS programs and facilities operations across multiple regions, including major office relocations. Strong knowledge of global regulatory frameworks and standards, including ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and SA8000; proficiency in incident/RCA/CAPA leadership. Demonstrated success leading large teams, influencing executive stakeholders, and driving culture change. Strong analytical, communication, and executive presentation skills; vendor and budget management expertise. Bachelor’s in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or Business; advanced degree preferred. Ability to lead distributed teams; international travel as needed.
