We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Southern Region team. The role oversees the development of accurate, timely estimates for private and public works, including large‑scale and design‑build/alternative procurement projects. The Senior Estimator will lead the estimating effort from scope definition through bid submission and post‑award support.
- Review proposals, specifications, drawings, and soils reports to define project scope.
- Attend pre‑bid meetings and lead the good‑faith effort, communicating DBE requirements.
- Coordinate bid preparation with the Contract Administrator and manage the bid document package.
- Track project work history, schedules, and assess labor capacity for each bid.
- Evaluate risk matrices, perform risk and contract management, and report findings to senior leadership.
- Monitor scope changes, oversee pre‑bid RFIs, and manage post‑bid submission timelines.
- Review subcontractor quotes, identify scope gaps, and finalize estimates with strategic cost factors.
- Oversee project handoff to project managers and track actual versus estimated costs.
- Interface with owners and contractors to provide engineering and cost data for feasibility analysis.
- Lead training initiatives for the estimating department and champion continuous improvement.
- Maintain and update Bid2Win estimating software and related documentation.
- Guide bid strategy, ensure balanced bid items, and lead bid closings for the team.
- Lead alternative delivery pursuits and support business development activities.

- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent technical training and related experience.
- Minimum 10 years of heavy civil estimating experience and at least 3 years of field experience.
- Proven ability to lead estimates on bids up to $300 M and deliver budgets within targets.
- Proficiency with Bid2Win, Bluebeam, Agtek, SketchUp, Primavera P6, SureTrak, and MS Project.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, insurance requirements, labor agreements, and take‑off processes.
- Excellent time management, attention to detail, multitasking, and team leadership skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to lift or move objects up to 20 lb; regular standing, walking, and sitting required.
