  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Drive continuous improvement in gas distribution code compliance through proactive strategy development and implementation

  • Develop system strategies in gas distribution for operational program efficiencies and technical competency
  • Apply advanced mathematical concepts and analyze and manipulate data
  • Produce reports and technical documentation to ensure regulatory alignment across gas operations
  • Provide guidance to gas distribution operations through engineering reviews and technical computations

  • Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record BS in Engineering is required
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented
  • Professional Engineer's License is a plus but not required
  • Get Into Energy - Energy Industry Fundamental 2.0 certification is a plus [getintoenergy.org] (click here to certify at no cost)
  • Ability to obtain Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Certification
  • Must be able to adapt to changing work requirements
  • Experience in gas distribution operations and/or 49 CFR Part 191 and 192 compliance preferred
  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation
  • Practical working knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Overnight travel as required for business up to 20% of the time
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • All NorthWestern Energy employees are required to adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadline requirements
  • A valid Drivers License or the ability to obtain one
  • Engineering design and technical expertise in gas distribution engineering preferred
