The Procurement Team Lead manages a work group responsible for procuring engineered equipment, commodities, permanent plant materials, and small tools and supplies. This ‘working manager’ role combines hands‑on execution of contractual obligations with oversight, support, and mentorship of Procurement Agents and Sr. Procurement Agents.
Key duties include monitoring and evaluating team performance, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, overseeing the full procurement lifecycle from pre‑bid closeout to RFP/RFQ execution, and driving cost‑saving opportunities. The role also involves negotiating contracts, qualifying suppliers, leading aggregated sourcing events, collaborating on category‑strategy initiatives, and managing financial planning, reporting, and analytics.
Success in this position requires thorough knowledge of electrical equipment and construction materials, strong supervisory and communication skills, and the ability to work independently while balancing people and project responsibilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Oracle, as well as the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and support continuous process improvement, is essential.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree and have at least five years of electrical procurement experience. The role may require up to 10 % travel and involves typical office work with occasional lifting of up to 30 lb.
