Energy tech co. that designs, builds, services gas, nuclear, hydro, steam & wind power systems globally.
Engineers are accountable for the quality of their work and operate under direct supervision, prescribed work instructions, and system checks. Work is performed within a well‑defined operations framework that follows a step‑by‑step sequence of standard tasks to achieve the desired outcome. This ensures consistency and traceability across all activities.
Support Business Verticals in creating and reviewing system solutions via the OTR process, ensuring technical fitness and managing risk with contingencies. Perform electrical system design, including equipment sizing (transformers, cables, UPS/batteries) and preparation of single‑line and protection diagrams. Conduct layout engineering for equipment placement, cable routing, and earthing. Execute protection‑relay coordination and parameter setting using electrical software. Provide basic and detailed engineering for power‑quality equipment such as transformers, switchgear, and cabling.
Analyze customer contracts, prepare specifications for vendors and internal stakeholders, and produce technical documentation per contractual requirements. Identify technical risks and implement mitigation plans. Review solutions to uncover opportunities for process, system, or equipment improvements. Foster relationships with other GE business entities, platform engineering, technology, value engineering, and supply chain to maximize synergy. Apply a lean mindset to deliver optimal technical solutions and ensure strict compliance with all company and customer EHS policies and procedures.
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputable university is required. Candidates must have at least eight years of experience in project or electrical system engineering within industry, marine, oil & gas, or power sectors. Proficiency with system design tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, PLECS, and PSCAD is essential, as is experience designing systems involving transformers, switchgear, cables, e‑houses, power quality equipment, MV motors, and hazardous‑area classifications.
Strong analytical and innovative problem‑solving abilities, adaptability, multitasking with project/application engineers, and proficiency in MS Office are also required. Power‑quality simulation and power‑system design experience with MATLAB/PSCAD are valued. No relocation assistance is provided.
