Track and document time-and-material work, field changes, and job quantities
Inspects the construction of a wide variety of airport improvements and utilities projects to ensure conformance to plans, specifications, contracts, permits, environmental documents, agreements for work, and may provide construction inspection support.
Support special inspections and testing activities, coordinating with engineers, contractors, and third-party agencies as needed.
Assist in validating contractor progress payment requests based on an approved schedule of values.
Verify contractor compliance with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC, NFPA 70, 70E, 72), mechanical and plumbing codes, and client-specific standards.
Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems across building and terminal construction projects, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project specifications, review and interpret construction documents including blueprints and shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders.

Must be able to provide Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years, prior to start.
Knowledge of Project Management Information Software used for inspection/document control (i.e., Microsoft Office, Outlook, Xcel, Word, PM Web, Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, etc.)
Demonstrate the ability to move freely for up to 8 hours per day.
Mechanical ventilation and exhaust
Fire and life safety integration (e.g. smoke dampers)
Computer proficiency to review and utilize electronic equipment for contract documents efficiently, including change orders, submittals, RFIs, and other inspection documents, with minimal supervision
Proof of Cal-OSHA 30 hr. training within the last 4 years
Confined Space Entry Training
Venting, fire sprinklers, and gas piping
Must be able to work any assigned shift - day, swing, or night - as required to meet the contractor’s construction schedule.

Mechanical inspection staff possess a thorough knowledge of the materials and methods used in the installation of plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration installations
Fall protection and harness training
Demonstrates strong proficiency in preparing comprehensive daily inspection reports that clearly document the WHO, WHAT, WHEN, WHERE, and HOW of all observed construction activities, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and accountability in tracking progress and identifying issues, deficiencies, or safety concerns in a timely manner.
Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Mechanical
High school diploma (or equivalent)
HVAC systems (air handlers, chillers, boilers, ductwork)
Mechanical inspection staff shall have Three (3) years or more experience performing mechanical inspections for Building Construction
Candidates must possess a current ICC certification as Commercial Mechanical Inspector.
Additional ICC certifications as Electrical and Plumbing Inspector is preferred.

Starting Salary range for this job is $135,060.00 - $155,320.00. The starting salary will be commensurate with skill, education, experience, and working environment
