As a Multi‑Skilled Plumber you will complete all allocated jobs correctly the first time, using a whole‑job repair approach to provide excellent customer service. Your duties include installing and repairing hot and cold water systems, heating, sanitary ware and drainage, delivering compliant work, and applying multi‑skilling to reduce repeat visits. All jobs are scheduled across Herts and Essex, so you know exactly where to be.
If you are an experienced plumber seeking a new opportunity with a reputable employer, join Home Group’s repairs and maintenance team. You will deliver high‑quality, right‑first‑time maintenance across responsive and void properties, working alongside a brilliant team.
The ideal candidate holds a City and Guilds NVQ Level 2 in plumbing (or equivalent), has fault‑finding experience, and is familiar with plumbing installations in a maintenance environment. Experience in other building trades and a full, current driving licence (company van provided) are also required.
The role follows a Monday‑to‑Friday schedule, with additional out‑of‑hours on‑call duties on a rota and extra on‑call pay. You must be comfortable using technology for job logging, online learning and collaboration, and you will need a basic DBS check, which we will cover. Residency in Watford, Borehamwood or Hemel Hempstead is desirable.
We are hiring a Multi‑Skilled Plumber to work across our properties in High Wycombe, Watford, Borehamwood, St Albans, Welwyn Garden City and Hemel Hempstead. This is a permanent, full‑time role (37.5 hours per week, Monday‑Friday) with on‑call duties on a rota basis. The salary is £37,445 per annum plus a company van, a generous on‑call allowance and benefits such as a Health Cash Plan and matching pension contributions. Home Group does not offer a Certificate of Sponsorship for this position.
We offer more than just a job; you will receive great training, support from friendly colleagues and the chance to make a real difference every day. Home Group is recognised as one of the UK’s top‑10 Great Places to Work.
Home Group values inclusion, wellbeing and diversity, fostering a supportive workplace through various networks. Benefits include 34‑39 days annual leave (including bank holidays and a “me day”), two paid volunteering days, a Health Cash Plan saving over £1,140 per year, family‑friendly policies, matching pension contributions up to 7%, and life insurance worth three times your basic salary.
