Water Resources Engineer – Coastal & Stormwater -Entry

Description

• Perform preliminary and detailed engineering design tasks for water resources and related civil engineering projects including:
• Prepares plans, specifications, and cost estimates, in support of final bid packages
• Participates in project decisions regarding technical approaches, feasibility, cost, construction approaches, and scheduling performance
• Performs numerical modeling in support of stormwater and drainage improvements projects
• Participates in design activities and meetings between project team members, subcontractors, and client managers
• Prepares written and graphic reports and makes presentations
• Under direction prepares various draft documents, including reports and technical memoranda
• Performs 1D and 2D riverine hydraulic modeling

Requirements

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Flood protection and resilience
• Availability and willingness to travel
• HEC-RAS, HEC- HMS or other Modelling experience highly desired
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Water Resources Engineering,
• Stormwater hydrology and hydraulics
• All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171
• Stormwater management and drainage infrastructure permitting and design, preferably locally.
• EIT preferred
• AutoCAD, Microstation, and Matlab experience preferred
• 0-2 years of experience with stormwater, floodplain or site civil engineering
