Engineer - Transportation Water Resources

Description

• Develop hydraulic models using HEC‑RAS to analyze major bridge and culvert crossings
• Perform scour analysis
• Prepare Bridge and Culvert Survey Reports per NCDOT standards
• Design and analyze hydraulic capacity of drainage networks and structures using HY‑8, Bentley OpenRoads, GEOPAK, and FHWA Hydraulic Toolbox
• Create project design drawings in Bentley OpenRoads Designer or MicroStation
• Prepare erosion and sediment control plans with calculations
• Prepare environmental permit drawings and application packages

Requirements

• Minimum three years of hydraulic design experience for NCDOT or similar agencies
• Hold Engineering Intern (EI) certification and ability to obtain NC PE license
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field
• Outstanding organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong sense of urgency, project responsibility, and initiative
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Five+ years of hydraulic design experience preferred
• NC PE license or ability to obtain reciprocity preferred
• Proficiency with HEC‑RAS, ArcGIS, and Bentley OpenRoads Designer
• Experience with HY‑8, Bentley OpenRoads Drainage and Utilities, GEOPAK Drainage
• Extensive knowledge of NCDOT drainage and erosion control design standards
• NC Level III Design of Erosion and Sediment Control Plans certification
