Tasks
You will be responsible for cost planning, procurement, contract administration, and project valuation, working closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to deliver successful outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in the financial and contractual management of civil engineering projects — ensuring value for money, cost control, and compliance with contract terms. -Maintain accurate cost reporting and cash flow forecasts. -Support project teams with change management and risk analysis. -Participate in value engineering and project cost reviews. -Manage subcontractor procurement, tender evaluations, and contract negotiations. -Ensure compliance with contract conditions (NEC, JCT, FIDIC, or other forms). -Liaise with clients, consultants, and site teams to ensure transparency and effective cost control. -Prepare and submit interim and final payment applications. -Oversee measurement and valuation of works (including variations and claims). -Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and forecasts throughout project lifecycles. -Prepare final accounts and close-out documentation.

What You Bring
We Build Recruitment are seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor (Civil Engineering) on behalf of our client, a leading nationwide Civil Engineering and Groundworks Contractor. -3+ years’ experience in a civil engineering or infrastructure environment. -Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related discipline. -Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (especially NEC3/NEC4). -Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying software. -Membership or working towards membership of RICS, ICES, or equivalent professional body. -Experience with cost control systems and commercial reporting tools. -Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
