What you would be doing

  • Ensure adherence to company environmental, health and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environmental and the minimisation of environmental impact.
  • Contribute & comply with accurate collation of Shop Floor documentation information. To ensure compliance to internal and external requirements.
  • Assemble Screw Compressors to Engineering Drawings and Contract Specifications.
  • Conform to all aspects of HCO Quality Management system including the fulfilment of all relevant procedures, including all WSIs to ensure conformance to international standards.
  • Test Screw Compressors hydraulically and pneumatically to specification
  • Dispose of all waste in accordance with site waste segregation requirements.
  • Deliver Quality product in a timely manner whilst contributing to efficient and effective manufacturing principles to ensure compliance with cost forecasts.
  • Interact & respond to all aspects of HBE supporting cost reduction, efficiency, delivery and Quality improvements
  • Assemble Screw Compressors to Engineering/Contract Specification.
  • Adhere to relevant instructions contained within SOPs/ WSI’s on the assembly of Screw Compressors to ensure that each compressor is built to specific standards.
  • Provide training support for Apprentices and work colleagues to ensure appropriate skill transfer.

  • Good communication skills
  • Previous experience of precision manufacturing & assembly processes
  • Lifting & Slinging and forklift certification
  • Recognised Mechanical fitting apprenticeship and relevant qualifications.
  • Engineering Drawing interpretation ability
  • Lean Manufacturing Skills
  • Electrical systems awareness
  • Rotating equipment experience i.e. compressors, pump and turbines.
  • Experience in a Mechanical testing environment and familiar with related safety procedures and processes.

  • A competitive salary of £37,500, rising to £39,000 upon completion of training. Also the opportunity to earn shift allowance with the team currently operating a three-shift rotating structure with a rate of x1.33, consisting of early shift (6am-2pm), back shift (2pm-10pm) and night shift (10pm-6am), Sunday Night - Friday Early. Additional overtime available out with the standard shift pattern (All overtime at 1.5).
