You will keep automation projects moving by supporting data‑center startups, performing on‑site mechanical, electrical, and control checks, and leading startup, checkout, and acceptance testing for warehouse fulfillment and manufacturing systems in industries such as food and beverage. You’ll partner with automation and controls engineers to test, troubleshoot, and validate their systems on‑site, while providing clear communication and updates to customers and project teams. Typical travel rotations follow a days‑on/days‑off schedule (e.g., 5‑on/2‑off, 10‑on/4‑off, or 14‑on/7‑off), giving you exposure to massive companies with ProAutomated supporting you.
We’re opening our 2026 hiring pipeline for curious, adaptable problem‑solvers who love travel, hands‑on work, and being part of a team that knows your name. Our four‑week paid training prepares technically skilled individuals for field work, and success requires a basic foundation in electrical systems, programming, and communication networking. If you’re new to these areas, this role may not yet be the right fit.
We are looking for candidates who love travel and can thrive on rotation away from home. Preferred experience includes a working knowledge of electrical systems, programming, and communication networking, along with strong communication and problem‑solving skills. Applicants must live within 50 miles of a major airport (relocation assistance available), have a personal vehicle within 45 days of employment, be authorized to work in the U.S., and hold a technical degree or equivalent hands‑on experience (3+ years) in electrical, mechanical, or automation engineering.
The role requires the ability to walk long distances across large facilities, climb ladders or work at heights, lift and carry up to 50 lb, and stand, kneel, or reach for extended periods. You must be comfortable working in varied environments such as construction sites, outdoors, and hot or cold conditions. Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
At ProAutomated you’ll combine work and travel, experiencing new cities while tackling unique projects and earning travel rewards. Compensation starts at $60,000–$75,000 depending on location, education, and experience, plus per‑diem, mileage reimbursement, utilization and weekend bonuses. We invest in your growth with paid training, annual merit raises and a 5 % salary increase after six months, and we offer health, dental, life insurance, a matching 401(k), disability coverage, paid vacation, and flexible time off after 18 months. Our people‑first culture means leaders have risen from within, teamwork and humor are core, and every colleague is known by name.
If you want a challenging, travel‑filled career where your effort truly matters, we’d love to meet you. ProAutomated is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity, inclusion, and a respectful workplace; employment decisions are based on qualifications, merit, and business needs.
