Responsibilities also cover site management, safety enforcement, quality assurance, and maintaining accurate schedules and documentation. The superintendent serves as the primary liaison between field crews, project management, and design teams.
Qualified candidates possess at least ten years of civil or structural construction experience focused on steel erection, including work on movable bridge projects such as bascule, swing, or lift bridges. In‑depth knowledge of structural steel systems, AISC standards, welding, bolting, and rigging practices is required. Strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills are essential, along with proficiency in construction management software. OSHA 30 certification is preferred, and additional steel erection certifications are a plus.
