The Role

Overview

Senior engineer leading dam safety reviews, hydrologic/hydraulic analysis and water infrastructure design.

Tasks

-Manage projects from proposal through conceptual design, detailed design, and construction. -Support and mentor junior staff within the Geo-Hydro team. -Design and review hydraulic and civil structures, such as weirs, culverts, channels, erosion protection, and detention ponds. -Prepare high-quality technical reports, design drawings, and engineering memos. -Participate in field investigations and site inspections, as required. -Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, including watershed modeling, floodplain mapping, and flow simulations. -Lead and contribute to dam safety reviews and related assessments. -Liaise with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to support project delivery.

What You Bring

-Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in water resources, hydrotechnical, or dam engineering. -Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office Suite. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record. -Proven project management experience with the ability to balance multiple priorities. -Experience with Dam Safety Guidelines, associated technical bulletins, and provincial regulations. -Demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management. -A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. -Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. -Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia. -Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset). -Strong technical background in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, HY-7, SWMM, FLO-2D, HYFRANS). -Knowledge of environmental permitting, legislation, and regulatory processes. -Experience taking projects from proposal through construction completion.
