Reporting to the Human Resources Director, you will design, oversee, and deliver ISL’s total rewards offerings—including compensation, benefits, wellbeing, retirement, and leaves of absence—while navigating sensitive employee matters such as disability management, investigations, and transitions. Your work will ensure that rewards, time‑off programs, and employee transitions are administered fairly, align with organizational values, and support both business objectives and employee experience.
Key responsibilities include leading the total rewards framework, managing daily leave administration, developing retirement and transition practices, handling complex benefits inquiries, conducting investigations, overseeing annual compensation reviews, and serving as the primary HR liaison with Accounting for payroll matters. You will also ensure consistency, compliance, and defensibility of rewards and employee‑relations practices, create tools for leaders, and analyze employee data to continuously improve programs.
At ISL, Total Rewards goes beyond programs and policies to support employees through every stage of their career. We are seeking an experienced Total Rewards leader with a strategic perspective and a hands‑on approach to deliver meaningful, people‑centred outcomes. The role is based in Langley, with consideration for candidates in Burnaby, Edmonton, Calgary, or Saskatoon.
Candidates must demonstrate collaborative teamwork with diverse groups, describe strategies for building and maintaining relationships, and have at least ten years of experience leading total rewards and employee‑relations initiatives in a multi‑location setting. A strong knowledge of compensation, benefits, leaves of absence, investigations, retirement processes, and employment standards is essential, along with professionalism, empathy, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills. Bonus points are awarded for CPHR or equivalent HR designations and experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
The position offers a salary range of $115,000‑$125,000 based on a 40‑hour work week, along with a comprehensive wellness philosophy covering physical, mental, financial, and spiritual wellbeing. Benefits include flexible working hours, a hybrid work model, employer‑paid health, dental, and paramedical services, Healthcare Spending and Lifestyle Option Accounts, a Group RRSP, annual bonus incentives, paid professional development, parental‑leave top‑ups, and a 24/7/365 Employee Family Assistance program.
