Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed
Conduct reviews and verifications of construction schedules, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for construction projects
Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of spreadsheets, databases and scheduling software

Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
Interest and/or experience in the construction field
Local candidates are preferred
Knowledge of MS Office, Primavera, Scheduling Software, spreadsheets and databases
Minimum of 1 year of construction engineering or inspection experience on SCDOT projects highly preferred
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Must have strong people skills, and the ability to interact with the construction team
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate or the ability to attain within 6 months
SCDOT Inspector Certifications
Ability to pass SCDOT Inspector Certification classes as assigned
