The Lead Gate Attendant/Scale Operator monitors and records waste volumes entering the post‑collection site, collects usage fees from customers, and coordinates daily activities with the Operations Clerk, Supervisor, and Manager while ensuring compliance with company policies and federal and state regulations.
Key duties include reviewing special waste files, recording manifests, performing weekly radiation testing, reporting security issues, coordinating repairs, estimating staffing needs, recommending process improvements, directing and training staff, maintaining a clean scale house, assisting with paperwork, determining waste content for billing, handling payments and receipts, documenting waste entries, notifying operations of special loads, answering calls, and performing other assigned tasks.
Qualifications require strong time‑management, communication, and follow‑through abilities, adherence to company policies and safety standards, experience with cash handling and receipt balancing, computer proficiency, and prior experience in the waste services industry.
