You will be responsible for installing and commissioning Gent and Notifier fire alarm systems in complex, multi‑panel environments, delivering high‑quality, compliant life‑safety systems.
As part of a skilled team of Works Engineers you will provide installation, commissioning and small works, supported by wider company departments to ensure high‑quality service and a strong customer experience.
- Carry out all necessary works at customer premises in accordance with the company’s quality standards.
- Effectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status.
- Liaise with works administrators and other internal stakeholders to ensure commitments are met.
- Work to a planned commission and small‑works schedule.
- Provide outstanding customer service.

Trinity is seeking a skilled and motivated Works Engineer to join our South Coast team, based in Southampton and Portsmouth. The role involves delivering fire alarm solutions on high‑profile, critical sites across Southampton, Portsmouth and Bournemouth, with a competitive industry salary and an uncapped bonus scheme.
The fire alarm platforms you will work with include Gent, Notifier, Advanced and Protec, requiring familiarity with various system architectures.
The role requires a solid understanding of basic building services, fire alarm interfaces, and the ability to diagnose and rectify system faults. Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA) is mandatory.

- Ongoing training with leading brands like Gent, Notifier, Protec, and Baldwin Boxall.
- Experience commissioning, installing and completing small‑works fire alarm systems to relevant British Standards.
- Ability to identify, test and terminate fire detection cables according to manufacturer instructions.
- Logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectification.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Understand basic building services to test cause and effect of fire alarm interfaces.
- Comprehensive understanding of fire alarm problems and ability to recommend changes to reduce false alarms.
- Basic Electrical Safety training (ECA).
