  • Prepare a development plan with your line manager during the Professional Development Review process and take ownership of achieving the goals identified within this plan
  • Promote and role model Arcadis Health and Safety Principles during the planning and delivery of work.
  • Develop effective working relationships with the Project Director or Managers in Arcadis’ regional offices to ensure effective communication of progress and changes, as well as the resolution of issues.
  • Manage teams and develop staff to meet changing technical and managerial needs.
  • Work collaboratively with related design disciplines within an agreed engineering management environment to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution.
  • Manage quality assurance and feedback from Arcadis’ regional offices ensuring effective communication of any change/modification.
  • Technical ownership of safe design processes which consider safety during construction, operation and decommissioning through the use of hazard identification and risk assessment during design development. Plan for effective project implementation.
  • Provide technical advice to team members, to support them in their delivery on the project and in their professional development.
  • Take accountability for the quality of work completed by the team Work collaboratively with other design disciplines to ensure the integration of the overall design or solution.
  • Promote the culture of the business.
  • Manage quality processes.
  • Manage the production and quality of designs and associated documentation and reports to ensure that they meet or exceed expectations as well as Arcadis's requirements, and that they comply with national standards and codes of practice.
  • Develop, present and gain agreement for design options and opportunities to maximize the profitability of design components and drive the implementation of these.
  • Manage the planning and organization of tasks, people and resources.
  • Ensure effective financial and management controls are in place and deployed to enable monitoring, modification and forecasting of Arcadis GEC tasks as appropriate.
  • Manage the performance of team members identifying and ensuring the resolution of any issues.
  • Oversee an agreed scope of work and the operational workload of a team ensuring work is allocated appropriately and resources are fully utilized.
  • Undertake verification checking of elements of work with higher complexity.
  • Maintain strong working relationship with senior staff in Arcadis GECs and regional offices and understand the wider company perspective.
  • Perform role in accordance with the Arcadis behavioral framework.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of the services delivered by Arcadis, and the industry sector to facilitate personal networking and to consolidate personal credibility in the company.
  • Manage and take accountability for the performance and behaviors of more junior staff.

  • Geotechnical software’s like Plaxis 2D/3D, Geostudio, Wallap, REPUTE etc. FLAC 2D and 3D skills will be an advantage.

  • Capable of exercising sound holistic independent judgement and take responsibility and accountability for their own performance and that of junior team members.
  • Possess 7+ years of relevant professional experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
