Description

• Operate safety equipment and follow safe work habits.
• Perform welding in flat, vertical, and overhead positions using GMAW, SMAW, and FCAW processes.
• Ignite torches, start power supplies, and strike arcs to create welds.
• Detect equipment faults or defective materials and report to supervisors.
• Monitor welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion.
• Inspect finished pieces for defects and verify dimensions with straightedges, templates, or measuring tools.
• Set up and use hand and power tools, including shielded metal arc and gas metal arc equipment.
• Layout, align, and secure parts using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers.

Requirements

The Welder fabricates, assembles and repairs heavy‑duty hydraulic components—including buckets, breakers, shears and other attachments—for construction and industrial machinery. The role requires proficiency in multiple welding techniques, the ability to read blueprints and welding symbols, and close collaboration with engineers and fabricators to ensure structural integrity and safety. Attention to detail, metallurgy knowledge, and a strong safety commitment are essential.

Candidates need at least one year of technical school training or equivalent experience and must be willing to pursue further education in robotic welding operations.
