The Operator I assembles or packs various products, performs quality tests per specification, and ensures production demands are met. They can recognize basic equipment errors and report or perform basic troubleshooting tasks.
In production, the Operator I operates and controls auxiliary and semi‑automatic equipment and assists higher‑level operators. They use measuring tools to meet quality specifications, train lower‑level operators, handle material equipment, update shop‑floor management systems, perform basic troubleshooting, and can run multiple machines while maintaining required output.
The operator monitors workstations for low supplies, pulls materials from stock areas, transports them using appropriate handling equipment, and notifies supervisors or material handlers when supplies reach reorder levels.
They test and inspect products to ensure they meet all quality specifications, report non‑conforming items, follow non‑conforming product procedures, isolate or rework defective items, and accurately input data into the quality control system.
Additional duties include participating in 6S activities, workshops, meetings, and cross‑functional training. The role may require shift changes and wearing designated personal protective equipment.
The position requires basic reading, writing and arithmetic, good manual dexterity with small parts, ability to perform repetitive tasks, effective communication, and the ability to interpret work orders, instructions, blueprints, or drawings. It also demands a positive attitude, superior service, and adherence to the highest quality standards.
A high school diploma or equivalent and 6–12 months of related experience are required, though equivalent education and experience combinations may be considered.
