Operations Center Specialist (EOC)

Description

• Project Management: At times the teams support the fulfillment of projects with direction from Management and assist with ensuring their successful completion.
• Systems Support & Maintenance: Process inbound alerts from essential systems and network elements, ensuring a timely response. Additionally, you will handle site maintenance and outage notifications.
• Quality Assurance: Assisting with basic QA tasks and escalating trouble cases to lead and/or management as needed will be part of your responsibilities.
• Training: It is important to complete all assigned training in a timely manner to stay up-to-date with the latest industry practices and technologies, this includes all compliance and regulatory aspects across the region.
• System Monitoring: The rotating shift teams are responsible for 24x7x365 monitoring of our Data Center infrastructure and security alarms. This includes monitoring essential systems and network elements, as well as providing timely response to all access and CCTV related alarms.
• Documentation & Processing: Ensure the timely and accurate input of access information into our access control system. Additionally, you will process inbound access requests from customers, carriers, and our sites. You will also be responsible for dispatching service requests, trouble, and alarm tickets.

Requirements

• Problem Solving: As a Monitoring Specialist, you should have the ability to identify and resolve, or report, any detected problems. You will escalate trouble cases and emergencies as needed to lead and/or management personnel.
• Technical Expertise: Building familiarity with BMS systems, security access control systems, and basic data center infrastructure is essential. Over time and through ongoing training and support you should have a working knowledge of security and Data Center Facility Operations best practices.
• Ability to commit to a 24/7/365 roster shared between the team
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to escalate issues when necessary
• Familiarity with monitoring systems from data centers or relevant industries
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment but have the confidence to triage incidents accordingly through sound judgement of your own
