Description

• Review drawings, specifications, and project scopes with project management and engineering teams.
• Obtain, analyse, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates, take-offs, and bid proposals for exterior restoration projects.
• Maintain and update cost databases, production rates, and estimating templates.
• Present bids and recommendations to leadership, highlighting key assumptions, risks, and value options.
• Support pre-construction efforts, including conceptual budgeting and bid clarifications.
• Track estimating performance vs. actual costs and participate in post-project reviews.

Requirements

A well-established New York City construction firm specialising in façade restoration, masonry and exterior structural rehabilitation is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team.

• Proficiency with take-off and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Plan Swift, Excel).
• Ability to manage multiple bids in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid understanding of building envelopes, restoration methods, and materials.
• 5+ years of estimating experience within restoration, façade, or exterior construction (NYC experience preferred).
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
