The Disaster and Climate Resilience Consultant will join the Disaster and Climate Resilience Solution Team in Canada, reporting to the Climate Adaptation Solutions Director. The role supports business development, project execution, and solution design, contributing to Arcadis’ resilience and climate adaptation strategy.
Core responsibilities include conducting comprehensive literature reviews on hazards and vulnerabilities, drawing on Canadian and international case studies, and synthesizing findings to inform resilience strategies while staying current with emerging best practices.
The consultant analyzes both qualitative and quantitative data, creates geospatial visualizations, and translates technical research into clear, actionable reports, presentations, maps, infographics, and dashboards for diverse stakeholders.
Stakeholder engagement is central; the role designs, prepares, and facilitates collaborative workshops and consultations with ministries, technical institutions, local governments, Indigenous partners, and private‑sector representatives, ensuring inclusive project outcomes.
Supporting project delivery involves assisting project managers with planning, coordination, documentation, and reporting, proactively identifying challenges and opportunities to enhance client satisfaction and maintain Arcadis’ quality standards. Strong technical writing, problem‑solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills are essential.
The ideal candidate holds a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline, has 1–5 years of experience in engineering, environmental consulting, climate adaptation or disaster risk reduction, and possesses knowledge of climate data, GIS, or data analysis.
