The role includes producing and reviewing a full suite of highway deliverables—from roadway layouts and pavement drawings to signage and cross‑sections—while overseeing junior staff and ensuring all outputs meet quality standards. The manager will maintain and review the 3‑D highways BIM model, collaborate with the Information Manager on interdisciplinary checks, and drive BIM execution plans and workflows in line with corporate and client standards. They will also chair coordination meetings, resolve clashes, and guarantee compliance with safety, environmental and governance procedures.
- Produce and review highway deliverables such as layouts, profiles, signage, pavement drawings and cross‑sections.
- Guide and mentor junior staff on highway drawings and BIM models.
- Perform quality checks on team outputs and ensure documentation compliance.
- Manage and review the 3‑D highways discipline BIM model for accuracy.
- Collaborate with the Information Manager on interdisciplinary checks and coordination.
- Maintain expertise in BIM tools (Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks, BIM 360) and apply them to project workflows.
- Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans, workflows and processes aligned with corporate and client standards.
- Interface with project managers and discipline leads to define delivery approaches.
- Lead coordination sessions, clash resolution and design integration reviews.
- Ensure adherence to quality, safety, environmental and governance procedures.

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Assistant Technical Manager / Technical Manager to lead roads design projects in the Middle East. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in geometric road design, including roundabouts, grade‑separated intersections and complex interchanges, together with advanced BIM management capabilities. The position demands strong team leadership, technical excellence and rigorous quality assurance.
Candidates must hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and possess at least 12 years of road and infrastructure design experience, including 8 years of CAD drafting in the MEA/UAE region. Proven experience on Middle East road projects, mastery of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, Navisworks and BIM 360, and familiarity with regional design codes and international standards such as AASHTO are required. Leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and programming or automation skills are also essential.
A solid understanding of local Abu Dhabi, KSA, UAE and QHDM standards, as well as BIM Level of Development requirements, is expected. Candidates should be fluent in English and able to contribute to MIDP/TIDP documentation and the BIM execution plan. Experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud and CDE tools will be advantageous.
