This lead design engineering position offers challenging opportunities in structural engineering within the nuclear power sector. You will guide a team of structural engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers, and interface directly with clients. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and working with designers on drawing development, as well as overseeing structural analysis of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations. The role may require travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification, and follows a hybrid schedule with three days per week in the office.
Qualifications include a BSCE with a structural engineering emphasis from an ABET‑accredited program and at least 12 years of experience on nuclear facility structural design projects. Candidates must be proficient with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS and be familiar with design codes and standards including IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, N690, ACI 318, and ACI 349. Strong MS Office skills and excellent written and verbal communication are required. Preferred credentials are an MSCE, onsite construction support experience, and a professional PE or SE license.
