

Provides housing and support services to vulnerable people, including social care and development.
As a Relief Worker you will provide high‑quality, customer‑oriented service, assisting in care and support under the direction of the scheme manager. You will help maintain and promote the dignity of individuals, improving their health and wellbeing in a safe environment.
The role uses Psychologically Informed approaches and Trauma Informed Care to support customers in making positive choices, planning personalised support, managing risk, inspiring outcomes, and developing life skills. Duties include day‑to‑day tenancy support, budgeting assistance, healthcare monitoring, medication self‑management, record‑keeping, customer involvement, and delivering group work sessions.
You will support the referral process, contribute to housing management including income collection, ensure a safe environment by reporting repairs and health‑and‑safety concerns, clean and prepare rooms, resolve challenging situations sensitively, follow safeguarding procedures, maintain local partnerships, and handle day‑to‑day administration and financial duties such as rent accounts and invoicing.
We are looking for someone with experience working with people from diverse backgrounds, compassion, patience, empathy, a strong customer focus, and excellent written and verbal communication. Flexibility to cover short‑notice shifts, a positive attitude, and the ability to work well in a team are essential.
Essential person specifications include understanding barriers faced by vulnerable groups, teamwork, organisational skills, a caring and resilient attitude, initiative, confidence in decision‑making, and basic administrative and IT abilities. Desirable attributes are experience with vulnerable or diverse customers and lived experience of homelessness, mental health issues, or substance misuse.
