Electrical Director

Description

The Associate Director will serve as a senior technical leader within the organization, overseeing full-cycle electrical engineering design activities and contributing to strategic planning, hiring, and policy development. This position is part of the leadership team and plays a key role in driving operational excellence, mentoring engineering staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, code-compliant solutions.

• Lead and direct advanced electrical design and calculations for mission critical facilities.
• Serve as Engineer of Record (EoR) on major projects and programs.
• Manage departmental resources, budgets, and staffing to meet strategic goals.
• Monitor performance, conduct reviews, and support professional development.
• Contribute to company-wide policy development and operational decision-making.
• Conduct QA/QC reviews and mentor engineering staff.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to team members.
• Support training and standards development across the electrical team.
• Lead strategic planning and hiring for the electrical engineering department.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Lead departmental initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.
• Align departmental goals with broader organizational strategy.

Requirements

• Expertise in electrical calculations, code compliance, and design software (AutoCAD, Revit).
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
• Travel: Up to 10% across the U.S.
• Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for design documentation and visual aids.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Minimum 10 years of industry experience (education may substitute for some years).
• Physical Requirements: Primarily stationary with occasional movement; may lift up to 25 lbs.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or management role.
