Manufacturing Technician I- 2nd Shift (Structure Line)

Description

The Manufacturing Technician I – 2nd Shift (Structure Line) assembles, fits, and mounts sub‑assemblies, components, and standard or near‑standard fixed assemblies in Motor Control Centers, Enclosed Control, and related assemblies. The role includes preparing units for testing and final inspection, wiring relay panels, panel boards, space heaters, and control panels, bending and installing power cable and leads, and fabricating pre‑cable units, panel and MTB harnesses.

The technician works from oral or written instructions, uses manufacturing information sheets to determine parts, reads shop orders and drawings to plan assembly procedures, assembles and fits components into sub‑assemblies or final units, wires control devices, adjusts alignments, installs various units and bus work, fabricates cable and harness assemblies, and modifies standard assemblies as needed.

• Follow oral or written instructions, prints, inspection reports, manufacturing sheets, and wiring diagrams.
• Use manufacturing sheets to identify parts, write requisitions, and obtain materials from stock.
• Read shop orders and drawings to determine component types, configurations, mounting locations, and clearances.
• Assemble and fit parts to create sub‑assemblies or complete assemblies.
• Assemble and wire control devices, cutting wires to length.
• Adjust assemblies to ensure correct alignment and clearances.
• Install units, panels, meters, keys, pull boxes, reactors, relays, fuses, MTB assemblies, transformers, etc., mounting them securely; also assemble and install bus work such as lug adapters and splices.
• Fabricate pre‑bent cable units, MTB and control panel harnesses using pre‑cable boards and hand‑crimp lugs; cut, install, and connect wires and cables, including solder connections.
• Modify standard assemblies or doors as required, using hand or power tools.

Requirements

Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution and reside within a 50‑mile radius of Fayetteville, NC (active‑duty military are exempt).
