Senior Engineer- Flooding

Description

• Develop hydrological and hydraulic flood models and produce high‑quality reports.
• Mentor and collaborate with junior team members while receiving guidance from senior specialists.
• Own defined components of flood‑related design packages and ensure accuracy of work.
• Deliver modelling tasks within budget, schedule and client quality expectations.
• Access ongoing guidance, training and feedback through the National Flood Risk Community.
• Work on landmark infrastructure projects locally and internationally.

• Collaborate with industry‑leading experts across a supportive national network.

Requirements

• Hold recognised tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline.
• Possess 5–20+ years post‑graduate experience in consulting engineering or similar.
• Demonstrated expertise with TUFLOW (1D, 2D, combined) – essential.
• Experience with HEC‑RAS, RORB, RAFTS, and GIS software such as MapInfo, QGIS, or ArcGIS – desirable.
• Knowledge of ARR2019 guidelines and Melbourne Water and VicRoads/Austroads standards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Membership or progress towards relevant professional institutions; drainage design experience valued.
