Performs hands on inspections to verify by re-examination the efficacy of supplier inspection efforts and to provide assurance of the conformance of equipment or materials to procurement document requirements
Conducts surveys or audits or surveys of suppliers, when assigned
On a large sized project, represents Bechtel as the supplier’s prime contact with respect to supplier quality and performs quality surveillance activities defined by the assignment scope to verify that supplier furnished equipment and material conforms to the technical and quality requirements of the procurement documents
Monitors supplier personnel activities including witnessing of operations, inspections, examinations, or tests to verify procurement document requirements have been met
Reviews supplier generated quality verification documentation to verify conformance to procurement document requirements
Rejects material found nonconforming and collaborates with the supplier and project supplier quality personnel to obtain a course of supplier action which facilitates satisfactory disposition of disclosed non-conformances
Participates in pre-award and post-award conference with suppliers to review Area Supplier Quality's right of access, release for shipment authority, and notification on witness and hold points during quality surveillance activities.
Assists in the development of the final bid list and the selection of a recommended bidder
Reviews supplier generated documentation applicable to materials, tests, components, quality-related activities and the qualification or certification of personnel to verify compliance to specified quality criteria
Reviews material requisitions including technical specifications with respect to quality requirements and participates with Engineering in determining the levels of surveillance required and establishing witness and hold points
Assists with the establishment of Quality Surveillance levels required for each purchase
