As a Power Lineman III in aerial transmission, you will install, maintain, and repair transmission and distribution systems up to 500 kV. You will lead and coach trades and non‑trades personnel, coordinate with Power Lineman IV, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
The position requires extensive field work at height, safe execution of aerial transmission tasks, and close collaboration with contractors and internal teams. You will also handle emergency situations, maintain accurate documentation, and provide training to less‑experienced personnel.
Candidates must have a Grade‑12 diploma or equivalent, a Journeyman Powerline Technician or Power Lineman certificate, and at least three years of journeyman‑level experience. A solid knowledge of OH&S regulations, protective grounding, climbing equipment, and live‑line techniques is essential, as is proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to complete EPCOR’s switching school.
Additional advantages include a valid Class 1 licence, experience with energized aerial systems, operation of man‑lifts or tele‑handlers, and formal high‑angle rescue training. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong organizational, troubleshooting and decision‑making skills, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
