Key duties include preparing machines for production runs, selecting appropriate tooling, loading materials, and securing workpieces. The operator will read engineering drawings and specifications to develop CNC programs, using CAM software such as Esprit or PartMaker, or manual G‑code techniques. Test cuts and measurements verify program accuracy before full production.
During production the operator monitors machining processes, makes real‑time adjustments, and resolves issues related to tooling, equipment, or programming. Collaboration with production, engineering, and quality teams drives continuous improvement, while mentoring junior operators shares best practices.
Cadrex is hiring a CNC Swiss Set Up Operator II to join its manufacturing team. The role involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting Swiss‑style CNC turning equipment to produce high‑quality parts in a fast‑paced environment. The ideal candidate brings strong technical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven record of delivering precise machined components.
Preferred qualifications are three or more years of experience with Swiss CNC machines, proficiency in G‑code/M‑code and CAM tools, and deep knowledge of Swiss machining processes, tooling, materials, and tolerances. Candidates must be able to interpret technical drawings, solve problems quickly, and communicate effectively within cross‑functional teams.
A two‑year technical certification or equivalent experience is preferred. The position is onsite, Monday‑through‑Friday, and involves regular standing, manual handling, and occasional lifting of up to 25 lb, with exposure to moving machinery, vibration, and moderate noise.
Cadrex emphasizes safety, collaboration, accountability, and doing the right thing. Compensation includes health, dental and vision benefits, life and disability insurance, paid time off, a 401(k) match up to 4%, a remote‑work stipend, education support, safety‑gear reimbursements, referral bonuses, and a bonus plan for full‑time staff.
