What you would be doing

This is a key leadership role where you will oversee compliance with CDM regulations, drive best practice in health, safety and environmental standards, and ensure risks are effectively managed throughout the pre-construction and construction phases. You will also act as a trusted advisor, supporting colleagues and contractors while building a positive health and safety culture across the Group.

  • Deliver training, guidance and communications to promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture.
  • Support investigations, audits and reviews to ensure lessons learned translate into improved practices.
  • Lead on CDM responsibilities as Principal Designer, coordinating health and safety during pre-construction and beyond.
  • Represent Torus with regulators including HSE, Environment Agency and Fire Authorities.
  • Advise on risk management, legislation and best practice across a range of projects.
  • Completion of all new starter documentation including signed T&C’s
  • Maintain compliance with ISO standards (45001 & 14001) and drive continuous improvement.

This is a hybrid role, with your main base at our Warrington office. You will also be required to attend our Liverpool and St Helens offices, as well as project sites, depending on business needs.

  • A full, clean driving licence.
  • Experience delivering CDM Coordinator / Principal Designer services across multiple sectors.
  • Experience in Construction and Housing
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation, particularly CDM 2015.
  • Qualification certificate check
  • Right to work verification
  • OH Health Questionnaire – Fit for Work
  • 2x Completed references
  • Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Safety and Health
  • Excellent organisational, project management and communication skills.
  • DBS check (if required for role)
  • Certified or incorporated member of the Association for Project Safety (CMaPS/IMaPS)
