Ensures that the organization is fully aware of the necessary tools or information required to successfully bid and acquire a project
Participates in project reviews
Contributes to a database/library of pricing inputs and outputs to refine and streamline the estimating process. Examples include the following at a minimum:
Provision of detail on ESM documents and drawings that is thorough, accurate, and complete in proportion to the level of customer-information provided for our use, and consistent in its presentation for Insteel sales interpretation
Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
Develops and issues competitive proposals to customers
Participation in the process by which customer expectations are managed and satisfied
Evaluates bid specifications and drawings as inputs
Obtains competitive quotes for subcontracted work from subcontractors.
Communicates effectively with clients to ensure proper scope is quoted
Creates accurate estimates thorough take-offs from plans

Position requires a person with good interpersonal skills and the ability to be a team player
An equivalent combination of education and work-related experience may be acceptable
Knowledge of the engineered structural mesh and/or prestressed concrete industries is preferred
Minimum of one year experience in similar industry; estimating experience in similar industry preferred
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity
Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams and across organizational levels
Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness in researching, troubleshooting, and resolving challenges
Proven ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Professional, technical, or administrative training (Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management) preferred
Technical comprehension of customer-provided information to the degree necessary for preparation of competitive ESM drawings, and the tactful and effective communication skills necessary to foster this comprehension and maintain customer trust
Knowledge of construction markets, computer skills, and able to work in a team environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
