We have an opportunity for a Transition Manager in Canberra to work on CASG Joint projects, overseeing the transition of capabilities from acquisition to sustainment.
In this role you will lead the execution and ongoing maintenance of the JP9101 Transition Plan, develop and progress Transition Transfer Documents, and provide expert advice on emerging transition issues. You will work closely with internal teams, external vendors and stakeholders to clarify responsibilities and ensure effective knowledge and documentation transfer. Additionally, you will identify transition risks, implement mitigation strategies, and oversee quality checks, performance monitoring, and post‑transition reviews to drive continuous improvement.
The ideal candidate holds tertiary qualifications in project management, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience, and has demonstrated experience delivering complex transition activities within Defence acquisition or sustainment environments, including familiarity with ASDEFCON frameworks. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, proven program or project management capability, and knowledge of Defence‑specific requirements such as CASG Capability programs, classified network handling, and quality assurance practices are essential. Relevant certifications such as PMP or CPPM are desirable, and you must hold and maintain at least a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance, with possible ITAR compliance.
Employees enjoy professional development opportunities, including career mapping, accelerated learning programs and Communities of Practice, as well as great perks such as discounts on healthcare, retail and vehicles. We support veterans with up to 20 days of Reservist Leave and foster an inclusive workplace that celebrates diversity, welcoming applicants of all backgrounds, ages, genders and abilities.
As a WORK180 Endorsed Employer, we offer flexible work arrangements, inclusive leadership, and equitable access to opportunities, and we provide recruitment support or adjustments to help candidates put their best foot forward.
