Select criteria for planning, design, and construction of dams, foundations, tunnels, slopes, and related structures.
Assist with business development activities including the preparation of budgets and scopes of work.
Participate in professional development and training activities.

Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines.
Lead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including health & safety, risk management, project management, and quality management.

Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Work in conjunction with engineers, geologists, and scientists to solve project challenges, leading design tasks and overseeing design calculations as required.
Lead technical teams, perform technical work, make technical presentations, plan technical portions of projects, develop technical portions of proposals, and provide technical review of work products.
Oversee Construction Quality Assurance including the review of shop drawings and submittals, response to request for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
Manage projects and tasks with the assistance of 1 to 10 engineers.
Assist with cost estimating.
Assist with feasibility studies by conducting research to assess challenges and develop solutions.
Mentoring, coaching, and training of lessexperienced professionals, as required
Develop design drawings and specifications for various levels of design (e.g. 30%, 60%, 90%, 100% design).
Mentor and train future leaders, including development of succession plans for key positions.

10 to 14 years' work experience in civil engineering. Dams and/or levees experience required.
Existing professional registration (PE) or ability to obtain within 36 months of starting work.
Valid driver's license
Familiarity with computer aided design drafting programs
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university; Master’s preferred.
Willing and able to travel as needed for site work that may include inspections, construction quality assurance, and other field work related tasks; both nationally and internationally.
Working knowledge of the principles of civil engineering.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; time management skills.
