In this role, you will champion Layton’s core values—honesty, unity, safety, and quality—by establishing a strong safety culture among Layton and subcontractor employees at multiple sites. You will oversee safety programs, provide regulatory guidance, and collaborate with leadership to monitor new legislation and update policies accordingly.
Your duties include conducting incident reviews, leading monthly audits, delivering training for Safety 360 compliance, and ensuring accurate and timely accident reporting. You will also interface with site supervision, subcontractor management, and governmental agencies such as OSHA, EPA, and MSHA while supporting injury management and workers’ compensation issues.
The Environmental, Safety, and Health (ESH) Specialist is responsible for implementing corporate, field, and office ESH policies and procedures across assigned business units and project sites. This position requires frequent travel throughout the United States and candidates must be willing and able to relocate as project assignments demand.
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Safety & Health or a related field (or equivalent experience) and possess at least five years of ESH experience. A strong knowledge of OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations is required, and certifications such as CHST, ASP, CSP, or ICRA are preferred.
