Day‑to‑day duties include following all Johns Manville safety procedures and policies, wearing proper PPE, and completing required training. Operators maintain communication to ensure product quality, perform housekeeping, follow JSA/SOPs, use checklists, and submit production reports. Additional tasks vary by assignment and are directed by supervisors.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, be able to read tape measures, work instructions, and product specifications, and possess basic math skills. Beginner to intermediate computer abilities (Microsoft Office) and solid written and verbal communication skills are required, as is the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Physical requirements are typical for manufacturing roles and include standing for extended periods, manually lifting, pushing or pulling at least 50 lb safely, and working in dusty conditions with temperature extremes. Employees must also be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach above shoulder, and tolerate a rotating shift schedule, with reasonable accommodations available as needed.
The Production Operator role offers a base hourly rate of $20.80 and participates in the Pay for Skills program with opportunities for skill progression. Employees may be assigned to positions such as Mixer, Winder, Vat, Mid Operator, or Palletizer and must be flexible to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, including day, evening, night, overnight and weekends as needed.
