Ensure all shipping documentation required to move with shipments is available for inspection and that appropriate paperwork accompanies shipment when delivered.
The driver is responsible for keeping the exterior and interior of the truck clean.
Drive truck to destinations in accordance with Federal regulations. This includes no cell phone use unless using a hands-free device and always using seatbelts.
Inspect truck/trailer(s) for defects and safe operating condition before, during and after trips, and submit written report on the condition of the truck/trailers(s) at the end of each trip or tour of duty.
Report all accidents involving driver, company equipment, and/or private property to your immediate Supervisor, Safety personnel, or DOT Compliance person. Report all safety hazards to your immediate Supervisor or Safety Personnel (DOT or Safety).
Maintain records required for compliance with State and Federal regulations including driver’s logs, records of fuel purchases, mileage records, and other documents required by law.
Responsible for truck/trailer and all safety equipment being in proper working condition.
Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time monthly for required tasks.
Responsible for loading, unloading, reloading and delivery of product or equipment to various destinations. This could involve lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying boxes, chains and other items weighing up to seventy-five pounds.
Control and document all applicable written reports and procedures.
Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
Unload trailer and reload with equipment or other items being returned to various locations.
Drivers will be responsible for the load being properly secured of all types of equipment or cargo and ensure that all securement devices are in good working order.
Ensure all required wide load signage and flags are in place and visible.
Check shipping papers to determine the nature of product being transported, destination or delivery location and/or any special unloading instructions.

Class A CDL is required.
Proper handling and accurate completion of all necessary paperwork related to truck operations and product movements to include both state and county permits. For other states permits are required as needed.
If driving is required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability will be required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.
Understand how to hook and unhook to diverse types of trailers.
The use of basic hand tools is necessary.
Use of respirator if position requires.
Must have a current/valid medical card or possess the ability to obtain one.
OSHA10 preferred.
Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors
You must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment.
It is necessary to have a mechanical aptitude.
Ability to perform pre-trip inspection to ensure loads are secured correctly.
Working outside most of the time with potential exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures.
2 years’ experience in heavy equipment/forklift operating.
Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of two miles per day.
